As You Are Dance Movement
Diana B.

Diana serves as the Artistic Director and Founder of As You Are Dance Movement, bringing a unique blend of personal insight, academic training, and professional experience to her role. Her background includes 12 years as a competitive dancer and degrees in psychology and business from UNC-Chapel Hill, followed by early career experience at a Big 4 consulting firm. These experiences gave her a deep understanding of the tension between performance, identity, and the pursuit of success—especially in high-pressure environments.
Motivated by a desire to promote balance and well-being through movement, Diana began exploring ways to integrate her passions for dance, psychology, and fitness. Her journey ultimately led her to As You Are Dance Movement, where she now leads programs that emphasize the therapeutic and expressive power of movement in a supportive, non-judgmental environment.
Diana’s leadership has helped shape the organization’s child and teen programming, which is thoughtfully grounded in developmental psychology. These classes are designed not only to teach dance technique, but also to support children in reaching key social and emotional milestones through creativity, teamwork, and movement.
